A promise Kept

I promised you a poem

 and promises I keep

I hope my words bring to you

 dreams of angels while you sleep

I want to tell you about a bond

  of friendship so very true

Of trust and of honour

 this bond between me and you

A promise that I will be here

 in times of joy and pain

A promise that will be kept

 I shall never feign

Know that no matter what

 You are always in my thoughts

And prayers to almighty god

 You’ll always be in my heart
