My Freedom
Freedom from the guilt that bound me
held me prisoner within my mind
Freedom from the lies that held me
captive in the dungeon of darkness
I soar up to the sky, my heart guides the compass
Freedom from the pain and hurt
that pierced the deepest parts of my soul
Freedom from hiding my feelings
I need never to fear
I now reach out for you to hold
For you will always be near
Freedom now my spirit lifted up
to the comforts of the heavens
Freedom of my body, my mind, and my spirit
everything has been set clear
Now I have life, which you have given
Like the innocence of a single tear
Freedom now I can breathe
a breath of what is pure
Freedom, from where did it come
It came with the rising sun
it cleansed my soul for that I’m sure
Freedom what can it be
it is the love you have shown to me
for without it I could not be free.
